Applications are invited from eligible individuals and organisations for two cultural mobility initiatives of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie. « En Scène ! » offers grants in performing arts field for touring and network building. « Édition Limitée » supports training  of fashion designers and creators of luxury articles.
There are specific conditions for eligibility and all the information for applicants is in French.
Check the map of the Francophonie member countries to see if you may be eligible to apply. Hotel Pro Forma (Denmark) | A residency programme for international artists

Applying artists must be professional and have documented experience in developing interdisciplinary work. Preference will be given to applications that fit into the theme of ART+SCI (art+science), as this will form the basis of the works presented at Atelier Hotel Pro Forma in 2015.
Applicants must submit a concrete project proposal to develop during their residency.
Based on their projects, the chosen applicants will participate in producing work(s) for Hotel Pro Forma Lounge, our monthly exhibition at the Atelier.
The work that are presented may be either work-in-progress or already completed.

Artists-in-Residence must be able to finance their own travel and accommodation although in some cases funding will be possible to cover some of these expenses.

Only Nordic and Baltic artists can apply for residencies in Fall 2015. Danish residents may only apply if they are living in another Nordic or Baltic country.

The Application
Applicants must fill in the E-form and include project description, expectations for the residency, their project’s relevance to Hotel Pro Forma and an artist statement.
Supplemental material (portfolio/CV) MUST be uploaded in the e-form as one pdf-file and be no larger than 15MB. No other file formats will be accepted.
The application deadline is 1 February 2015: at 23.59 local Danish time (GMT + 1:00).
Applications sent after deadline will not be taken into consideration.

Period of residencies:
6-12 weeks between the months of September- December 2015.

Media Art Grants 2014

Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art will award three production and residency grants—10,000 EUR each—to promote international artistic efforts in the field of media art.

The grants from the Foundation of Lower Saxony at the Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art were created in 2001, and are recognized internationally for their support of the production in the wide range of media art, from video art and net-based projects to audio or audio-visual installations.
The grant covers a period of six months—July–December 2014—and requires residence in Oldenburg for at least one month.
The project or artistic work should be completed within the six-month grant period. An international jury of experts will choose the grant winners.

Edith-Russ-Haus Award for Emerging Media Artists of the Sparda-Bank 2014

The Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art will award up to five grants for artistic works in the area of new media.
–two grants to the amount of 3,000 EUR and participation in the Award for Emerging Artists exhibition at the ERH;
–up to three artists will be acknowledged by having their work presented in the Award for Emerging Artists exhibition at the ERH.

The Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art would like to recognize new stances in media art and support the winning artists with grants and/or an exhibition. The prize is intended to lastingly promote the careers of young media artists.
Awards will be given to existing works from the broad spectrum of media art, from net-based projects or video art to audio or audio-visual installations.
International artists up to the age of 35 may participate. 
An international jury of experts will choose the prize winners.

About Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art
The Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art opened in 2000 and is devoted to a wide range of current issues related to media art. Exhibitions by international artists and presentations, performances, concerts, workshops and lectures by media artists and theorists are regularly organized. Important past exhibitions have dealt with key contemporary themes such as Something Other Than Photography: Photo&Media andGeneration i.2 – The Aesthetics of the Digital in the 21st Century; important media artists have been presented in solo exhibitions. In October 2013, the first exhibition of the winners of the Edith-Russ-Haus Award for Emerging Media Artists of the Sparda-Bank was presented: Kuai Shen with the space and sound installation Oh!m1gas: biomimetic stridulation environment and ss-io (Hyun Ju Song und Mi Lyoung Bae) with the generative audiovisual installation The Moment.
Since 2001, the Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art has conducted a regular guest-artist programme, which up to now has sponsored and implemented 35 artistic proposals. To this end, two one-room apartments and a residential studio are available in the guesthouse of the Edith-Russ-Haus, and grant recipients can call upon the institutional support of the institution in implementing their projects.

David Elliott chose the title of the IV Moscow International Biennale for Young Art A Time for Dreams by rephrasing the famous "I have a dream" speech by Martin Luther King. With this title, the curator emphasizes the chronic instability of our time and the acute need for the young generation to have dreams, hopes and opportunities, to not blindly go with the flow but to invest their strength into the perfection of the world. A Time for Dreams will include the work of over a hundred artists under the age of 35 chosen from across the world. Focusing on both present and future, moving between concern with microcosms and universes, this exhibition will resound as a polyphony of individual perspectives interwoven by different aesthetic and cultural traditions. Just as in Martin Luther King's still unfulfilled dream, the dream of good art, however it is made and wherever it comes from, has to be rooted in truth, ethics and belief in life.

Works submitted to the Biennale may be those of Russian or foreign artists of the new generation, working in the field of contemporary art with the latest strategies, concepts, and techniques (individual, collective, or as part of curatorial projects). Artists of the new generation are defined as those whose age at the time of the opening of the Biennale does not exceed 35 years. The right to apply for participation in the Biennale is limited to the authors of projects (artists and curators in the case of a curatorial project). Applications for the strategic projects of the Biennale for curators (curator groups) are received regardless of financial means. The application process is free. Authors and curators will not receive payment. The artistic director of the biennale will consider all applications and compile a selection of participants in the Biennale.

Institutions are invited to collaborate and young artists and curators to participate.

With the firm belief that art can represent freedom of thought without boundaries and promotes self-determination and the free circulation of culture and ideas, the Prize is dedicated to those who harbor the right will to pursue their research beyond the hardship determined by political, social or geographical conditions.

Given that the recent art processes focused greatly on historical, social, and political changes, while also considering the tragedies yet afflicting mankind, the Prize intends to base the selection criteria for its short list on the qualities of internationality, generosity of thought, social awareness, as well as innovative research traceable in the works and individual paths of the artists and composers selected.

To underline this idea of openness, the finalists of the Mario Merz Prize will present their works in a group exhibition and a concert to involve spectators in the final voting phase.

Among these finalists, the Jury will select the two winners, who will be commissioned new scores and projects.

The Art Prize is addressed to artists who have been already recognized for the quality of their work in their home country and are launching their career on an international level. A short list of five nominees will be selected through a nomination process. The winner will be selected by an international jury composed of Manuel Borja-Villel (Director, Museo Nacional Centro de arte Reina Sofía, Madrid), Lawrence Weiner (artist), Massimiliano Gioni (Head Curator, New Museum, New York/Art Director Fondazione Trussardi, Milan/Director of the 55 Venice Biennale) and Beatrice Merz.

Artists participating in the selection are to be nominated by curators, museum directors, art critics, gallerists or members of other cultural associations. Artists cannot nominate themselves. Each artist can receive multiple nominations. There are no restrictions with regard to age, nationality or artistic medium.

The Music Prize, which avails itself of the collaboration with the Associazione per la Musica De Sono in Turin and the Hochschule der Künste in Zurich, is dedicated to contemporary music. A short list of five nominees will be selected through a nomination process. The winner will be selected by an international jury composed of Thomas Demenga (cellist and composer), Dieter Ammann (composer), Alexander Lonquich (pianist) and Willy Merz.

Composers participating in the selection are to be nominated by music institutions, interpreters, music critics and experts. Composers cannot nominate themselves. Each composer can receive multiple nominations. There are no restrictions with regard to age, nationality or artistic medium.

NPO S-AIR is offering one place for a residency opportunity in Sapporo, Japan.
S-AIR will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to learn about Japan, communicate with Japanese artists and local community, and to establish networks and dialogues between local and international artists. This is an opportunity for artists who work in visual arts.
The successful candidate will be expected to produce new works and will be encouraged to experiment in their own field. A collaborative work or project within the community is desirable. The artist will be asked to give either a lecture or a workshop as well as to have an exhibition or presentation during the residency as a result of the residency, this may be a solo show or a group show.
The successful candidate will also be required to provide reports of their residency to S-AIR at the end of their residency and to seek opportunities to share their experience on their return to home country (or elsewhere outside Japan)– this could mean an exhibition, a series of presentations or artists talks, or publication of articles, which have to be reported to S-AIR.
About S-AIR
S-AIR was established in 1999 with partial funding by The Agency for Cultural Affairs, to run an artist-in-residence programme in Sapporo, Japan. Since it was approved to be a non-profit organisation in 2004, S-AIR started a 10-year collaborative residency project with ICC, in which we have been building networks with Japanese and international artists as well as art institutions in Japan and overseas. In 2011, S-AIR initiated a new programme, FRONTIER, which is supported by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. In April 2013, S-AIR has moved its office to central Sapporo, and so far has hosted 77 participants in total from 32 countries and regions over the period of 12 years (until March 2013).
Conditions and Requirements

75 day residency between 8th January – 31st March 2014 to be arranged with S-AIR (Exhibition period: End of February – Beginning of March)

All kinds of discipline within the context of visual art

Travel and material fees can only be reimbursed in Japanese Yen after arrival in Japan in exchange with receipts and boarding passes (showing the date of purchase, amount of payment, travel itinerary and name of the passenger). Participants are strongly advised to bring enough money to cover the initial spending ideally for the first month.
The support includes:
- Travel costs (up to 170,000 yen)
- Material Fees (up to 100,000 yen)
- Daily allowance (3,500 yen)
- Accommodation: a rented single room with internet connection (Please bring your own laptop as no computer will be provided)

Sharjah Art Foundation announces the 2014 Production Programme Open Call for grants to artists working in a range of media. Up to $200,000 is available in this application cycle.
The Sharjah Art Foundation (SAF) Production Programme broadens the possibilities for the production of art in the MENASA region through a commitment to support innovation and excellence in artistic practice by encouraging risk and experimentation. This commitment places artists at the core of the Foundation’s mission by offering grants and professional support for the realisation of projects selected from an open call for proposals.

The past decade has seen an extraordinary rise in artistic activity throughout the Middle East, resulting in an increased visibility for artists both regionally and internationally. Within this context, the Foundation hopes to promote and encourage an environment of public and private patronage for the highest level of artistic endeavour. This programme focuses on supporting artists in their individual attempts to create work on a scale they have perhaps never imagined possible.

Arts practitioners are invited to propose imaginative, ambitious and inspirational projects that will transform our understanding of what art is and how it can be experienced. With this initiative we hope to engage and challenge the artists, our audiences and ourselves aesthetically, intellectually, emotionally, socially, politically or in ways new and unexpected.

In 2014 we are offering production grants to artists working in a range of media including sculpture, installation, time-based media, artist’s books and performance. Up to a total of $200,000 is available in this application cycle. The success of a proposal will be determined by merit rather than budget. To this end, projects with budgets that range from modest to ambitious scales will be considered. The submission deadline is 31 January 2014 and selections will be announced in March. The selected projects will be developed and produced by the artist and the Sharjah Art Foundation, with presentation of the completed project as agreed between the artist(s) and SAF.

The Production Programme was launched in 2008. Over 500 submissions have been received, 230 applications considered and 31 projects selected for production.

Robert Rauschenberg Foundation announces recipients for the inaugural round of its Artistic Innovation and Collaboration Grant Program
The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of its new Artistic Innovation and Collaboration grant program (AIC) to advance the values promoted by artist and activist Robert Rauschenberg during his lifetime and career. The AIC grant program is the first national competitive grant program for the Foundation. It propels the organization's philanthropic mission of cultivating, promoting, encouraging and supporting the production and exhibition of art.
List of Artistic Innovation and Collaboration Program grantees 2012:
Ballroom Marfa, Marfa, TX
To support "Carbon 13," a multi-disciplinary artistic investigation of issues related to climate change. Artist and project director David Buckland will work with participating artists Heather Ackroyd, Amy Balkin, Erika Blumenfeld, Antony Gormley, Dan Harvey, and Cynthia Hopkins on developing new works, and these works will be presented in an exhibition in conjunction with public programs as part of The Marfa Dialogues.
Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, Omaha, NE
To support "Town Hall," a project to design and develop a new cultural space and a residency program for local artists in North Omaha, the poorest community in the city. The project will be led by artist Theaster Gates and the Bemis Center and engage local artists and community members in strengthening North Omaha as a creative place.
The Drawing Center, New York, NY
To support the commission of three new multi-disciplinary works that illuminate links between drawing and the performing arts. The works will be showcased as part of the Center's Performance Series and staged in its newly renovated galleries. Artists include Susan Hefuna, Luca Veggetti and Morphoses; Rashaad Newsome; and Suzanne Lacy and Andrea Bowers.
Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), Los Angeles, CA
To support the launch of HOLA's Public Art Project, a collaboration between HOLA and Otis College of Art and Design in which HOLA teaching artists Claudio Stickar, Gary Garay, Pearl C. Hsing and Patricia Yossen will work with other leading Los Angeles artists to engage youth in planning, creating and installing permanent installations in HOLA's Lafayette Park neighborhood.
Machine Project, Los Angeles, CA
To support Machine Project's first large-scale project in public spaces. Conceptual works will be created by collaborative teams of artists, filmmakers, sound engineers, floral sculptors and others, which will be installed in unexpected public sites. Participating artists include Kelli Cain, Brian Crabtree, Juliana Snapper and Holly Vesecky.
Mary Miss/City as Living Laboratory, New York, NY
To support the City as a Living Laboratory's project, BROADWAY: 1,000 STEPS, which will establish Broadway as a green corridor for New York. Working with artists, scientists, urban planners and others, the project will establish 20 Hubs along Broadway, each of which will use visual art, text and cell technology to help passersby explore themes in PlaNYC—air, water, waste, energy and land.
North Dakota Museum of Art, Grand Forks, ND
To support the commissioning of artists Rena Effendi, John Hitchcock, Terry Jelsing, Adam Kemp, Mary Lucier and Tim Schouten to create work exploring life on North Dakota's mixed race, multi-cultural Spirit Lake Nation of the Dakota (Sioux) people. The project brings together artists from various disciplines and backgrounds, including Native Americans, to create work with and about a community that has minimal contact with contemporary artists.
Space One Eleven, Birmingham, AL
To support planning for (re)Moving Walls, a collaborative, multi-media project in which Birmingham-based artists will travel around the country and engage local artists in exploring barriers their communities face, such as economic disparities, race relations, and environmental degradation. The vehicle that the artists travel in will become the collectively created work, contributed to by artists along the way before returning to Birmingham.
STREB, Brooklyn, NY
To support "ESSENTIALIST ACTS," a multi-stage, multi-disciplinary artistic exploration of action, in which artist Elizabeth Streb will collaborate with Robert Woodruff, David Van Tieghem and Erik Pearson as well as members of the STREB company, to create large-scale works, including major public presentations in London as part of the London 2012 Festival of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

About the Artistic Innovation and Collaboration Program
The goal of the Artistic Innovation and Collaboration Program is to provide support for innovative projects in which a visual artist collaborates with one or more artists in any discipline to make a new work, advance a multi-stage artistic exploration or push forward a new artistic form, all in the spirit of Robert Rauschenberg. Grantees will be small and mid-sized cultural organizations with a strong track record of creative risk-taking, experimentation and identifying emergent talent, for whom the Foundation's grant will be significant in enabling them to achieve their artistic goals and leverage other resources.
Grants are generally in the range of 50,000 to 150,000 USD. This amount can be given over a period of one to three years. These creative initiatives may open the doors to new ideas that many people might not understand now but which will become increasingly relevant in the future.
"This grant program is rooted in the defining characteristics of Bob's legacy—fearlessness, innovative practice, cross-disciplinary exploration and collaboration among artists—and supports new work in a time when funding artistic experimentation is receding. We are delighted to be able to support projects that are pushing the boundaries of artistic practice and helping artists and cultural organizations investigate new territory," said Christy MacLear, Executive Director of the Foundation.
In 2011, the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation invited 65 arts organizations across the country to apply for the inaugural grant cycle. After a competitive application process, nine grants, totaling 800,000 USD were awarded to a diverse group of innovative projects.

Artistic Innovation and Collaboration Program Grants 2013:
Proposals to the AIC program are made on an invitational basis, based on nominations by distinguished leaders in the field. Cultural organizations with annual budgets under 5 million USD that wish to be considered may send a brief statement (not more than one page) describing their overall artistic program and a project they believe to be in keeping with the goals of the AIC program.
